“Run Spot. Run, run run. Oh. Oh. Oh. Funny, funny Spot.” If you are under the age of say, 47, you’ve never heard of the Dick and Jane series. It was a series of books used from about 1930 through part of the 70’s to teach kids to read. It soon gave way to phonics-only in public schools, but I remember being so excited in the first grade when we would pull out these books. I loved the stories, but what I loved most were the illustrations.
Before We Read, We Look and See
William S. Gray was the author of the books and Robert Childress was the illustrator. Some titles in the series included the title of this post. So, before you get ready to go back to school, look and see what is available at CoziNest.
