“If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.”
~Marcus Tullius Cicero
The feature for 31 Days of Flipping Out today is a home library. Like yesterday, this library is part of a decorating project in Liberty Park of Birmingham, AL.
Here is the library before we “fluffed” the shelves.
After fluffing, the mantel has ornate candle holders and a sword collected by the owner of the house. As an Alabama fan, there are art pieces, photographs and footballs placed throughout the room.
Every library needs a wise old owl.
Wanting the sword to be lifted a bit to make it more visible, we placed it on two easels.
We used the owners collection of music paraphernalia.
We felt we had hit the jackpot when we found these old film canisters in the basement. I love adding old with new.
We added a side table from another room to make this sitting area.
We had to add the poster sized Kiss member in order to “Ace” the library! (Ace Frehley)
And one more picture…to show how hard we worked.
Photo bomb. My beautiful sister. I couldn’t do it without her. I am prepared for the fallout that will occur after publishing her in her workout clothes. Love you sista!
