Fashion Friday: Bangles and Bracelets

Thank Goodness, it’s Friday! Welcome once again, to Fashion Friday. Today is all about wearing bangles, bracelets and cuffs. With this in mind, I made a bee-line to my favorite jewelry store in my fair city, Estate Jewelers of Fairhope. I’m in a first name relationship with the owner, Julie. And, because she also has beautiful hands, she is my model for today’s post. I hope you enjoy it.

Beautiful Jade

With St. Patty’s Day approaching, I couldn’t resist this gorgeous combination. These bangles and bracelet are made of enamel and sterling. The body of the bracelet is made of water buffalo horn. I have one similar to this and it continues to get lots of compliments. These are also accented with 18 k gold and are no longer for sale. I beat you to it! However, JuJu’s is a little shop within Estate Jewelers that I’m sure can hook you up, if you want your own Shamrock bauble.

Mixing Metals
Mixing Metals

This is a striking combination of mixed metals. I’ve learned from Megan LaRussa that not only is it ok, but can make a dynamic statement if you mix silver and gold together. This is a perfect combination. Some of these bracelets were about $16 and some were NOT, but well worth the investment.

Mixing Costume with Fine Jewelry
Mixing Costume with Fine Jewelry

This fabulous trio is a mixture of fine jewelry with costume. The buckle bracelet is made of 5.20 carats of princess cut rubies and 2 carats of diamonds. The tennis bracelet is 14 K gold and has 8 carats of diamonds. I was nervous just snapping pictures of it. The gold bangle was costume and was on their 40% off table. These triplets wanted to go home with me, so badly. I’m sure their frowning as we speak.

My oh my! Can you say Lauren G. Adams?
My oh my! Can you say Lauren G. Adams?

For Spring and Summer, what better collection than the new Lauren G. Adams line!? The bright colors of orange, pink and yellow with gold accents is just a sunny combination! Her bracelets are “brought to life in high quality enamel with 18 k gold and base metals.” Her philosophy:

“The excitement in a woman’s eyes when she sees a new piece of jewelry always sticks with me.The sparkle in her eye: the way she looks at it, the way it looks on her and most importantly, the way it makes her feel.  Simply chic!”

She took the words right out of my mouth. I have my eye on several pieces in her line.

When would you ever go wrong with black and gold worn together? Never.

This multi-chain bracelet could be dressed up or worn casually with the gold chains, black onyx and pearls.

And last, but by far not least, are what Julie referred to as her “rocker bracelets.” She says she wears this combination most every day. Gorgeous.

Julie Johnson is one of 3 in the family jewelry business. Her father has had a shop in Highlands, NC now for over 25 years; her sister is the owner of Estate Jewelers of Grayton, in Grayton Beach, FL and they have just opened a new store in Mountain Brook, AL.  Estate Jewelers of Fairhope has been on Delamar now for 4 years and I hope it’s there forever.

And this is the beautiful face that goes with the arm that modeled the bracelets. Another Beautiful Faces in Southern Places, if you ask me.

Tell her Kim sent you, if you stop in. She’s as friendly as she is pretty.
