Bookcase Thrift-score

Friends, here is another great thrifting score that went from drab to fab with the stroke of a paint brush. Another day of 31 Days of Flipping Out with my sister, Kristie. She has been hard at work again and today’s feature is a bookcase she found at a local thrift store for $8. Amy Howard Paint

After a thorough cleaning and a few adjustments on the backboard, she painted it with Annie Sloan Charm School chalk paint and applied dark wax.

Voila! Now it’s ready to hold literary greats, beautiful artifacts and lots of chotchkies – as I call accessories. Tell us about your great thrift scores!

Hello Kim! I am visiting back from Heart for home-making. I love the bookcase makeover. Thrift stores used to be good here in the UK, but our local ones have gone downhill recently. My husband is very good at carpentry though and makes some nice things for me around my little house.
