A New Gem in Town
There’s a new gem in town and I can’t wait to share it with you. Notice it’s spelled g-e-m and not g-y-m. All of our resolutions may have us thinking about working out, but while this gem may actually be filled with iron, you don’t have to pump it! It makes you look great instantly, is a fabulous confidence booster and there’s no sweating involved. Well, almost no sweating…. Jade Boutique is the gem du jour on this Fashion Friday and it was filled with lust have fast fashion that this blogger could not go home without.
I spent most of the morning with Ashli Posey who is co-owner with Chanel Morgan. The shop is located on Main Street in Trussville, AL and if today’s crowd was any indication of their success, let’s just say it’s the main attraction in this little town that I once called home. How It All Started
Chanel and Ashli are tennis partners and were discussing their dreams after a match one day.
They were surprised they both had the same dream. A dream to open a boutique on Main Street in the small town of Trussville, AL. One month later their dreams began to take shape. JADE, (also called the stone of heaven) was mined out of love for fashion and a passion to help women feel confident about themselves. The whole atmosphere at Jade is summed up in that sentence.
I Am No Model
Those of you who follow my blog, know that I am not part of the glitterati. Nobody chases me down the street to get my photo. I am NO model, but my little photo shoot with Ashli today was mega fun! She was very helpful and put all of my outfits together. Camera flashing, lights glaring and prompts for how to pose for my best “side”, had me feeling like part of the fashion tribe.
Stripes on the arms are a great way to wear them, when you feel they don’t work with your shape. You’ll notice that most of these outfits are with my Frye Boots and skinny jeans. As a writer, I have no need to dress up, so this is my new typical..
As a 50-ish woman who lives in South Alabama, my needs for winter are different than say someone from New York City. Our average temperatures are in the mid 50’s with hot flashes making it feel like mid 90’s, so 3/4 sleeves work year round. As I write this however, our forecast for tomorrow is 19 degrees so the outfit below would be perfect.
I loved the vest below with its faux-leather lapels. Leather is on-trend this season.
Faux fur vests were a hit during 2013 and this one was so comfortable. I came home with the orange top to add to my growing crop of citrus colors. Love it.
I loved this top with fringe and batwing sleeves. Funness!!!
This top, trimmed with sequins on the cuffs and neckline makes a great option for New Years Eve or any fun party on your calendar.
And last, but not least…
I love this Aztec Cardigan, but have to apologize for the picture. It is one of my favs.
Styles for Every Woman
Their shop has styles for every woman. They have sizes ranging from a tiny 2 to a 3X. They sell jeans, leggings, jewelry, and shoes…just about everything you’d need in one shop.
My workout today was intense. There was some glistening on the skin. But, I’ll take this gem over that gym any day of the week. The more iron found in the gem, Jade, the greener it is in color! But, don’t let that scare you off… you won’t spend much green in Jade. They have excellent prices to match their incredible service.
