Life is Too Short to Drink Cheap Wine

A year ago, 007 and I used to drink cheap wine. Then we visited Oregon and discovered from a wine tour guide that there really is a difference in a $10 bottle of wine and a $20-$30 bottle. I know what you’re thinking. That tour guide likely made a commission and it was in his best interest to sell us on a more expensive winery tour. True. But, the cost of the wine tasting was the same no matter what winery we toured. We didn’t have to buy a single bottle, so we had nothing to lose by tasting a few wines that would normally be outside of our price range.

We discovered two things on that tour. Price does matter and there are some really fun and cute wine quotes out there!

Four Graces

Wine is the answer… Now what was the question?

Four Graces was one of the first wineries we visited. It was actually down the street from our Bed and Breakfast. I loved everything about this winery and their wines. You can find these at most grocery stores now and they range from $15-50.

DePonte Cellars

Always keep a bottle of wine in the fridge for special occasions. You know like Wednesday.

DePonte Cellars was a beautiful winery. They sat up on a hill and the view of the vineyards was absolutely breathtaking. These range in price from $25-$140.

Native Flora

You had me at Merlot!

Native Flora was another fun and captivating winery. Everything from the views, to the stories of wild bobcats and the precious dog, Stella, were enough to hold me captive for hours. My favorites range in price from $32 to $45 per bottle.

Styring Wines

Wine improves with age. The older I get, the better I like it!

Styring was another favorite. These wines continue to win award after award and range in price from $20-$100.

Who keeps putting vegetables in the WINE crisper?

Anderson Farms

Wine flies when you’re having fun!

We actually joined the Anderson Family Wine Club because we loved so many of their wines.  The price varies depending on the package you choose.

The next opportunity you have to taste a $25-$50 bottle of wine, take it! There is a reason it cost a little more.  Oh, and one more thing…

Love the Wine You’re With!
