Staging with Thrift Scores

Day 12 of 31 Days of Flipping Out is another treat by my sister. Straight from a staging project with thrift store finds, today’s feature is a great chalk paint redux. She found a pair of twin headboards on CraigsList, complete with brand new mattresses and bed rails for only $125.

The mirror will be used elsewhere and the chest may be painted.  That’s undecided.

She used Annie Sloan French Linen Paint with clear wax. The linens on the bed were purchased at Bed, Bath and Beyond and the pillows came from Target.

It’s beginning to look a lot like home…

So, what’s your vote… leave the chest as is or paint?

I’m no decorator by any means, but I think it would look great/better painted. I love the transformation of the headboards. That gray paint is gorgeous!

When possible, I always vote for leaving furniture with its original finish. However, if it doesn’t suit your eye or the space, then do it. The headboards, linens, pillows, etc. make a very pretty room.

I love those headboards — that’s a great transformation! I would probably vote for painting the chest too. 🙂

Try limewax on it. I have some that I am going to use on a piece a lot like this one, it will be after these two upcoming shows.

    Blessings,
    Linda

Paint it…black or dark teal blue ( same palate ) as the pillows.
