The Gulf at Perdido Pass

Mr. CoziNest and I had a real treat today. We’ve been at a business conference for the last 5 days, which was a lot of fun for moi, but work for him. Once our bellman had loaded all of our luggage, cooler, beach toys and briefcases into the car, we decided to stop in at a local restaurant on our way home. We’ve not had the pleasure of visiting this treasure before today.

The Gulf was a prize in a box(car)! Or at least that’s what they looked like to me. According to their Facebook Page, the “buildings” are made from “old shipping containers ” and “they spin vinyl.” The music was great, the food was fresh and delicious, and the views of the Perdido Pass in Orange Beach, Alabama ignited a new desire in Mr. CoziNest.

The Gulf at Perdido Pass

The Pass is the entrance to and from the Gulf of Mexico from the inter-coastal waterway, and as we ate our fresh-from-the-sea fish sandwiches, we had a fabulous view of water vessels coming and going into the Pass. Mr. Cozi began discussing what all would be involved to own a small boat. Of course, I jumped in with both feet to this conversation. A boat. On the Gulf of Mexico. For moi et vous? When can we go shopping?I know we had too much sun the day before AND we were still in the honeymoon stage of our trip to Italy, so I’m not hoisting any sails as of yet. BUT, a girl can cross her fingers, toes and eyes if need be. A small water vessel with an inner tube, skis, and an ocean in our backyard…What empty nest?

Sorry, for the rabbit trail… Now back to The Gulf. If you ever find yourself in the Orange Beach area for any length of time, check out this fun, inspiring and dreamy place that also serves great food and beverages.

Their sweet tea is wonderful, as is their made-from-scratch lemonade. And they have the best bartender on the coast. Ask for Shelly if ordering adult beverages…. In addition to all of this fun, they have the very best french fries this girl has EVER eaten and that’s saying a lot. I am a french fry connoisseur. I have never – in 54 years – eaten fries without ketchup or ranch dressing. I didn’t want to ruin them with condiments. We are only 45 minutes from Orange Beach. Well worth it for their fries and the dream of owning a water vessel.
